As per the 2021 census, the rural municipality has a total population of 27,974, comprising 14,410 males (51.5%) and 13,564 females (48.5%), with a literacy rate of 48.07%. Spanning 45.94 square kilometers, Dhankaul Rural Municipality exhibits the population density of 609 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 7 wards.
