New Summit Secondary School, New Baneshwor, is organizing a three-day International Teaching–Learning Workshop on Falgun 16, 23, and 24, 2082. The workshop is designed for teachers from Pre-school to Primary level and aims to strengthen modern teaching practices while placing special emphasis on women's empowerment in the education sector.
The professional development program will bring together experienced educators, trainers, and school leaders to share insights on progressive teaching methodologies. The workshop will conclude on Falgun 24, with the central theme of Women Empowerment, marking the institution's initiative to uplift and strengthen the role of women educators in schools.
Chairperson of the school, Ajaya Dhakal, shared the vision behind the workshop: "Empowering women teachers means empowering generations. When a teacher grows in confidence and competence, the classroom transforms, and ultimately, society transforms. At New Summit, we believe educational transformation begins with teacher empowerment."
Principal Rupendra Pokharel will serve as one of the key session facilitators, sharing insights on progressive and student-centered teaching methodologies. He emphasized that the school has always remained deeply connected to the community and considers such initiatives part of its social responsibility.
Lajita Sharma, the program coordinator, highlighted the broader objective: "With a very nominal charge, we are offering this workshop with the core objective of empowering women educators and, through them, transforming lives inside the classroom. Professional growth should be accessible, practical, and transformative."
New Summit Secondary School has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to community development. The institution views this workshop not only as a training program but also as a meaningful contribution to Nepal's educational landscape.
School representatives expressed that transformation in teaching and learning practices has become increasingly crucial in today's rapidly evolving era. To address this need, the school plans to continue organizing similar teacher-empowering sessions in the future as part of its ongoing commitment to educational excellence and social responsibility.
The upcoming workshop stands as a significant step toward strengthening women's leadership in education and fostering sustainable change in classrooms across the community.
