The Kathmandu University Computer Club (KUCC) has announced the commencement of ‘ KU IT Meet 2025’ at the university's central campus in Dhulikhel.
The event, under the theme "Connect, Compute, Create," aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry while fostering a culture of innovation and technological advancement in Nepal.
According to the club’s Vice President, Kiran Dahal, the event is the best platform to showcase students' technological capacity, leadership and creativity. He also shares that the highlight of the event will be the Project Exhibition, where students from various institutions will showcase cutting-edge hardware and software solutions.
While various pre-event activities are already underway, the main event is scheduled for Poush 11 (December 26).
Event Highlights:
- Major Attraction- KU Hackfest 2025: The centerpiece of this year's meet is KU Hackfest 2025, a 48-hour innovation hackathon running from December 24 to 26.
- Participants: Over 150 students across 161 teams are set to compete.
- Tech Stack: Projects will focus on cutting-edge fields including AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning), AR/VR (Augmented/Virtual Reality), and Blockchain.
- Prizes: The organizers have announced a total prize pool exceeding NPR 250,000 for the winners.
- Comprehensive Tech Lineup: The IT Meet cycle includes more than 15 diverse programs designed to engage students, professionals, and tech enthusiasts:
- Project Exhibition (Dec 26): Students will demonstrate their original hardware and software projects to the public and industry experts.
- Career Fair: Featuring stalls from 11+ tech companies, providing students with direct access to internships and job opportunities.
- Educational Sessions: The schedule includes Panel Discussions, a high-level discussion titled "The AI Wave: Illusion or Innovation?" will explore the realistic impact of Artificial Intelligence on the industry. It also includes an IT Quiz and technical workshops.
- Engagement: Pre-events like "Empower-Her," "We Shield Cyber," and various gaming tournaments (E-sports) have already begun building momentum for the main day.

The KUCC, which operates under the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has been a pioneer in Nepal’s ICT sector for over 25 years. Organizers believe that the IT Meet 2025 will play a vital role in developing student skills, promoting innovation, and expanding career horizons in the technology sector.
