Digital Gov Hackathon (ICT Bootcamp Program) – Pokhara Metropolitan City

The Digital Gov Hackathon is an initiative organized by the Business Promotion Center under the Economic Development Division of Pokhara Metropolitan City as part of its approved annual program for Fiscal Year 2082/83. The program aims to enhance practical Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills among youth while encouraging digital governance, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Through this program, young participants will gain hands-on training and experience in developing digital solutions that address real-world public service challenges related to government systems and municipal services.

Program Structure

Selected participants will first attend a 10-day ICT Bootcamp training focused on practical ICT skills, innovation, and digital solution development. Following the training, participants will compete in a 3-day Digital Gov Hackathon, where they will work in teams to design and present digital prototypes addressing problems related to government services or issues identified by Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent qualification
  • Must be a Nepali citizen or possess a National Identity Card
  • Must fall within the age group of 16 to 40 years

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents while applying:

  • Copy of 10+2 or equivalent academic certificate
  • Copy of Nepali Citizenship or National Identity Card
  • A Statement of Purpose (SOP) describing the applicant’s interest and knowledge in the ICT field
  • A Concept Note outlining a problem related to digital governance and a potential solution for improving public services

Participant Selection

  • A total of 40 participants will be selected for the program.
  • If the number of applications exceeds the available seats, participants will be shortlisted based on the Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Concept Note.

Awards

To encourage innovative ideas and impactful solutions, the following prizes will be awarded to the best-performing teams:

  • First Prize: NPR 50,000
  • Second Prize: NPR 40,000
  • Third Prize: NPR 30,000
