What is the total cost of the program?

For Nepali students, the total tuition fees cost NRs 1,25,000.00. NRs 35,000.00 must be paid at the time of admission and remaining NRs 90,000.00 is payble at the rate of NRs 30,000 in each semester.  NRs 800.00 charged for entrance examination and NRs 570 is charged in each semester as examination fee.

For the students of other SAARC countries: NRs 1,56,250.00 for the whole program.

For the students except SAARC countries: NRs 1,87,500.00 for the whole program.

A: New Admission open once a year during April-May.

A: The total number of seats allocated is 50.

Q: What is the time schedule of classes?

A: Classes run everyday from 4pm to 8pm except on Saturdays and public holidays.

The candidate must possess the following eligible criteria to apply for the program.

1. A Bachelor Degree in any faculty / discipline with second division marks from Tribhuvan University or the university recognized by Tribhuvan University.

2. Proficiency in written and spoken English.

3. Related work, research, and publication experience is given priority.

Moreover, women, dalits, janajatis, other marginalized are encouraged to apply for the program.

Enrollment to CPDS is announced once in a year. Students holding either a Bachelor's Degree from Tribhuvan University or an equivalent of this degree from any university recognized by Tribhuvan University shall be eligible to apply for admission in this program.

Applicants seeking admission to this program must appear in an entrance examination conducted by Tribhuvan University. Applicants who fail either to appear in the entrance examination or to obtain a minimum qualifying score will not be given admission. Admission of the students will be based on the merit list and the enrollment capacity of the class as fixed by the program. English is the medium of language in the entrance examination as well as all other class activities, presentations, report writing, and examinations/tests.

A successful completion of 62 credit hours is required to obtain the degree of M.A. in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies (CPDS). Out of 62 credit hours, first and second semester carry 16 credit hours each while third and fourth carry 15 credit hours each. The curriculum has been designed in such a way that students will be more focused on research activities along with academic courses. The courses, Research Methods (CPDS 555) in first semester and Research Practicum, Fieldwork and Report Writing (CPDS 565) in second semester have been given the weightage of 4 credit hours each. Students aspiring to have a focus on research can choose CPDS 590: Research Work and Thesis Writing instead of compulsory and elective courses along with thesis that are offered in the fourth semester. However, students are required to write their term paper and reports under the themes of the compulsory and elective subjects offered in the fourth semester.

A three credit hour course will have 48 lecture hours. The listing of the course for all semesters is as follows:
