To strengthen the nursing workforce in Nepal, KAHS launched its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) program in 2021 under the School of Nursing and Midwifery. This program is designed to prepare competent, compassionate, and skilled nursing professionals who can serve at national and international levels in clinical, community, academic, and leadership roles.

Program Structure
The B.Sc. Nursing program is a four-year, full-time course with a total of 309 credit hours (theory and practical). It combines strong foundational sciences with advanced nursing specializations:
- Year 1: Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Fundamentals of Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, Community Health Nursing I, Nursing Concepts & Theory, Applied Computer.
- Year 2: Medical-Surgical Nursing I & II, Geriatric Nursing, Oncology Nursing I, Psychiatric Nursing, Social & Behavioral Science, Health Economics, Community Health Nursing II.
- Year 3: Child Health Nursing I & II, Maternal Health Nursing I–III, Community Health Nursing III.
- Year 4: Research, Biostatistics, Leadership & Management, Educational Sciences, Gynecological Nursing, Major Electives (Critical Care Nursing, Oncology Nursing, Renal Nursing).
Each year blends theory and extensive practical hours to ensure that graduates acquire the necessary clinical competence and community engagement skills.
Admission & Graduation Requirements
- Intake Capacity: 40 students (as per Medical Education Commission and Nepal Nursing Council criteria).
- Students must maintain 85% attendance in theory and 90% in practicals.
- Must pass internal assessments and final examinations with at least 50% in theory and 60% in practicals.
- On successful completion, students are awarded the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) degree by KAHS.
