Competency-based curriculum in B.Sc. Nursing Programme
As an internationally competency-based curriculum will be followed as suggested by MEC, an attempt has been made to incorporate competencies in the practicum of the first year in this curriculum. The remaining 2nd , 3rd, and 4th years will also include competencies in the near future. Competencies are graded on the basis of domain (knowledge/skill/attitude/communication) and level, which follows Miller's pyramid (knows/knows how/shows how/performs). Examinations There will be internal assessments and a final examination every year. Internal assessment will carry 30% of weightage, while final assessment will carry 70% of weightage. A student must score 50 percent in the internal assessment in order to be eligible to appear in the final examination. The pass mark for the final examination is 50 percent. A student will be continuously evaluated through formative assessments to improve their learning.
