The BSc (Hons) Computing course equips students with the knowledge, understanding, and skills required of a modern IT professional. Designed for those who wish to study computing but have not yet decided on a specific area of interest, this programme allows students to personalize their studies and prepares them for a range of graduate roles.
In years one and two, students study the foundations of computing. In addition, they develop the skills required to build computer systems utilizing a range of technologies. In years three and four, students further develop expertise in core areas while being able to choose elective modules that allow them to specialize in their chosen area of interest. Possible specializations include mobile development, cloud systems development, secure software development, user experience development, advanced project management, and Big Data.
The course offers the possibility of undertaking an industry placement or studying abroad through Erasmus exchanges. Students are also encouraged to take part in activities with the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). Furthermore, the computing programmes are accredited by the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS).
Eligibility
Successful completion or fair expectation to successfully complete Higher Secondary or equivalent before the session begins. For all equivalence-related issues, reference will be made to records maintained at the Higher Secondary Education Board or Tribhuvan University, as applicable.
