Established in 2001, National Medical College was promoted by the "National Medical College Company Pvt. Ltd." under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Jainuddin Ansari, an outstanding surgeon with national and international credentials for promoting Medico-Social services. The institution is regarded as one of the best medical colleges in Nepal, holding a top-ranking position among all medical colleges in terms of its infrastructure, academic facilities, and modern, sophisticated medical equipment.
The National Medical College Teaching Hospital (NMCTH) is dedicated to delivering high-quality services and medical care to every citizen. The daily outpatient attendance at the hospital has exceeded 850 during the summer months, and patient admissions show a healthy increase each day.
