The programme prepares students to address the need of technically competent IT professionals that business industries, government bodies, NGOs, INGOs, hospitals, banks and other kinds of organizations require. 

The college engages students in the different project works and assignments which help them possess the an appropriate combination of knowledge and practical to take care of both organization’s information technology infrastructures and the people who use it. 

Further, experiential learning and hands-on exposure to current and emerging technology is a key feature at Kathmandu College of Technology’s courses. You will have access to fully equipped and specialized computer laboratories right from the beginning of your course. Also, the college maintains strong industry links through research and educational programmes, so our students have the opportunity to be involved in the industry projects and work experience. 

Most importantly, Kathmandu College of Technology (KCT)  puts all its efforts to produce graduates who are multi-skilled, multitasked and a good human who will be well-rounded IT professionals with significant exposure to a diverse range of IT practices and possess the ability to meet the future needs of this ever-evolving and fast-moving industry.

Admission Guidelines

Eligibility For B.Sc CSIT Program

  • Students who have secured a minimum 'C' Grade in all the subjects of 11 and 12 or a minimum score of second division marks in 10+2, PCL or Equivalent and have passed the entrance exam conducted by Tribhuvan University are eligible.

Eligibility for BCA Program

  • Students must have completed PCL or + 2 with minimum 40% marks  or 2 CGPA (not less than D+ in single Subject)
  • Students must have passed the entrance examination conducted by the University.

Kathmandu College of Technology (KCT), formerly known as Samajik College, is located in Lokanthali, Bhaktapur, Nepal. The college offers Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (BSc CSIT), Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS), and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) in affiliation with Tribhuvan University.

Kathmandu College of Technology (KCT) is established with an aim to significantly contribute to shape the career of +2 graduates in the field of IT and Computing. The college, Samajik College understands the advancement of computers and Information Technology which continues to have a profound impact on lives, and addresses the need of technically competent graduates to provide appropriate computing solutions that industry requires and it is committed to helping students develop skills, knowledge, and attitudes that help them pursue opportunities in IT and Computing.

Kathmandu College of Technology (KCT)  provides fully equipped and specialized computer laboratories right from the beginning of your choice. The College will also teach students soft skills, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and industry relevant additional IT courses apart from teaching the curricula designed by the University. Most importantly, the course taught offers both theoretical and practical applications where students are encouraged to apply their classroom instructions. Emphasis is placed on helping students to develop skills, knowledge in technical areas that have practical value in the workplace.

KCT provides its students with a combination of leading-edge theory and technical knowledge plus hands-on practical experience to prepare our students for a successful career as an IT professional in Nepal and around the world.

Welcome to Kathmandu College Of Technology. As the principal of the college, I am proud to introduce you to the outstanding academic program and activities that truly make us an IT College. The college is committed to build a vital foundation for studying computing and IT. We connect students to the innovative world of IT and computing through modern classroom and practical lab experiences and through innovative educational approaches. Our program is supported by experienced and innovative faculty members, staff and management team who bring their knowledge and expertise. They mentor students in independent projects, guide on their study and help explore subject in depth while exposing students to the challenging world outside. The college offers educational and professional opportunities for students in which they develop in the fields of their interest and prepare to face the next generation of IT and Computing.
