International Center for Academics (ICA), located in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, is an award-winning center recognized by Indira Gandhi National Open University as the Best Overseas Partner Institution in 2011, 2013, and 2014. It is also the recipient of the Best Distance Education B School of Nepal 2013. Established in 1997, ICA has been providing educational services to the nation for more than two decades.

In 2002, ICA became the first Overseas Study Center of Indira Gandhi National Open University in Nepal. It is among the pioneer institutions of blended learning in Nepal and is approved by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Government of Nepal.

ICA currently offers eight academic, value-added, and awareness programs through the Open and Distance Learning mode. These programs cover Management, Humanities and Social Science, Tourism, Computer Science, and other disciplines. Learners at ICA include fresh graduates and working professionals from fields such as the hospitality industry, financial institutions, telecommunications, corporate houses, embassies, and diplomatic agencies.

The institution provides learners with a unique opportunity to study and work simultaneously. Thousands of students have completed graduation, undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate-level programs from ICA. Supported by qualified faculty members and dedicated staff, ICA consistently maintains a high student success rate.

Several ICA learners have been recognized nationally and internationally. Three learners, Gagan Gurung, Kirtan Shrestha, and Chahana Singh, have received the Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Award. Eleven learners have received the IGNOU Gold Medal in Management, Tourism Studies, Computer Science, Health Science, Sociology, and Rural Development. IGNOU degrees awarded through ICA are recognized by all major universities in Nepal, including Tribhuvan University, and are accepted by government, non-government, and corporate institutions across the country.

Examinations are conducted by IGNOU through ICA under the supervision of the Embassy of India.
