ABOUT
Durgalaxmi Multiple Campus is the constituent campus of Far-Western University, and it is still running the programmes of Tribhuvan University as well (TU programmes will exist till the last batch of masters and bachelors pass out from the campus according to the MoU between Far-Western University and Durgalaxmi Multiple Campus). The campus was established in 2063 B.S (2006 A.D.) with the combined effort of the local community, representatives of political parties, teachers, students, different social groups/ organizations and other stakeholders of Attariya and peripheral areas. In the initial point, the campus had permission for one faculty in bachelor’s level from TU: Education. In 2064 B.S. the campus got permission to run Management, and in 2065 B.S. the campus got permission to run Humanities(B.A.).
Recently, the campus has been providing education to the students of the Far-Western region in B.Ed, B.A, BBS, BBA and B.Ed CSIT at the bachelor’s level and M.Ed (TESOL, CPL, Health Education and Nepali Education) and M.B.M.in Master’s level. Over six hundred students enrol in the campus annually to study different programmes, master's and bachelor's, in different faculties in this campus every Year.
Mission
The mission of Durgalaxmi Multiple Campus is to provide access to quality higher education by providing skill based, career based, vocational, technical, research based and general education to the people of Far Western region and the whole nation emphasizing the participation of ethnic, Dalit, Janajatis and the people of different social strata and marginalized groups incorporating the mission of Far-Western University, Nepal.
Vision
The vision of Durgalaxmi Multiple Campus is to be a nationally recognized educational institution of quality education through making contribution on intellectual, social, cultural and economic development of the Far-Western region as well as the entire nation, incorporating the vision of Far-Western University, Nepal.
Goals
To achieve the vision and mission of the campus, under the goals of Far-Western University Nepal, The Campus strives to achieve the following goals:
• Programme extension in line with the educational demand of the local community and the Far-Western region.
• Continued efforts towards quality improvement.
• Strengthening infrastructures base and human resource development
• Qualify for Accreditation from the UGC and maintain accreditation status.
• Improving internal academic and administrative efficiency.
• As a socially responsible educational institution, maintaining good relations with the community.
• Achieving sustainability by expanding the financial resource base.
Durgalaxmi campus is equipped with the required physical infrastructure. The campus is running all academic programmes, administration, library and other activities in its own building. Currently, the campus has a three-stored single building constructed in about 1 bigaha of a total 6.5 bigaha of land. There is a separate room for the library, a store room, an administration room, a teacher-staff room and a main office room for the campus chief out of a total of 27 rooms. The building is covered by a concrete wall and a wire fence for security. There is a main gate on the front side. The campus has a separate building for toilets for girls, boys, teachers and staff with sufficient water supply. The campus has a facility for pure drinking water and a sanitation system. At the south corner of the campus building, there is a tube well for an alternative drinking water supply to the entire campus. The campus premises include play ground for volleyball, football, and badminton. Similarly, the campus has maintained greenery through tree and flower plantations around campus premises.
