Kathmandu School of Law (KSL), a QAA-accredited institution affiliated with Purbanchal University, and located in Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur, has opened admissions for its five-year B.A. LL.B. program.

Class Schedule

  • First to Third Year (BALLB):  Day Shift | 11:00 AM – 3:45 PM
  • Fourth and Fifth Year (BALLB): Morning Shift | 7:00 AM – 10:50 AM

Eligibility

  •  C+ GPA or 50% marks in Plus 2 or equivalent level
  • 3.5 GCE in case of A-Level

  1. Merit-Based Scholarship
    • The top three candidates in the B.A. LL.B. entrance exam recipients receive merit-based scholarships, encouraging academic excellence from the start.
    • Awarded to academically outstanding students.
  2. Reserved Quota Scholarship
    • Aimed at promoting inclusion and diversity.
    • Available for students from the following groups:
      • Dalit
      • Indigenous Nationalities
      • Students from remote areas
      • Persons with disabilities
      • Women
      • Economically disadvantaged groups
      • Families of the disappeared or martyrs

  3. Madhesi and Hill Dalit Scholarship
  • Granted to 2 first-year students from Madhesi and Hill Dalit communities.
  • Covers one-year tuition fee or its equivalent amount.
  • Renewal based on academic performance.

B. Fellowships and Special Scholarships

  1. Prof. Madhav Prasad Acharya Fellowship
    • Total: Rs. 200,000 annually
    • Awarded to:
      • One student with physical disability (any year)
      • One BALLB 2nd year student excelling in Criminal Law
    • Renewal is based on:
      • At least one research article published in a KSL or an indexed journal.
      • Demonstrated commitment to research; otherwise, stipend is revoked and reimbursed.
  2. Jeena Maharjan Student Advocacy Practice Stipend
    • Awarded to one 5th-year female student pursuing an internship in advocacy.
    • Requires a research report on Legal Ethics and the Art of Advocacy.
  3. Balaram Kafle Scholarship
    • For any student interested in studying Criminology
  4. Nepali Civilization Study Fellowship
    • Amount: Rs. 150,000
    • Awarded for legal research on justice within Nepali civilizations, such as:
      • Sinja
      • Magarat
      • Newa
      • Mithila
      • Kirat
      • Tharu
    • Selection based on proposal.
  5. Sher Bahadur Basnet Employee Child Fellowship
    • Offered to the children of KSL staff members.
  6. Moot Court Best Oralist Fellowship
    • Awarded to the best oralist in KSL Moot Court competitions.
  7. Moot Court Best Research Fellowship
    • Awarded for outstanding legal research in moot court competitions.
  8. Gajendra Keshari Bastola Fellowship
    • Open to students from any year.
    • Awarded based on Eastern Philosophy and legal reasoning.
  9. Ramananda Prasad Singh (Tharu) Study Fellowship
    • Awarded to promote legal study or research focused on the Tharu community.
  10. Rudra Bahadur Singh Study Fellowship
    • Granted based on principles of judicial conscience and ethics.
  11. Suryabinayak-4 Resident Student Fellowship
    • Provided to permanent residents of Suryabinayak Municipality Ward No. 4.
