Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS) has announced a call for research proposals from eligible candidates interested in enrolling in its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program for the academic year 2025. The Ph.D course is being offered according to the proposal and the availability of research funds in the different areas/subjects.
The candidates should have:
Postgraduate qualifications, minimum of 18 years duration (10+2+4+2) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 4.0 in scale of 4.0 health science related subjects (MD/MS/MDS/MSc Nursing/Master's in Public Health, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Pre-clinical subjects or any other health sciences related) and minimum of 2 years work experience in the health-related academic institution after postgraduate qualifications.
Or
Postgraduate qualifications, minimum of 17 years duration with at least 60 % marks or CGPA 3 in a scale of 4.0 in health-related subjects and a minimum of 3 years work experience in a health-related academic institution after postgraduate qualifications.
The eligible candidates must submit the application form with proposal at the office of the Dean KUSMS, Dhulikhel with a copy of the bank voucher of Nepal Investment Bank worth NRs.5000/- each form (nonrefundable), deposited in the name of KUSMS Account Number: 00505030017934 on or before 15 December 2025. The deposit can be made through any branch of the Nepal Investment Bank

The total academic fee for the program is NRs. 5,90,000. The fee structure can be revised by the institution as necessary. The fee does not include the funds required for the research work. The candidate is expected to find the sponsorship or arrange the fund by themselves as necessary for the research works.
